The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has started a new program to help 1 lakh (100,000) young people learn important skills. The ‘Skills on Wheels Project’ will give free training, financial support, and job opportunities. This is especially for youth living in villages, women, and the transgender community.

• Rs. 20,000 monthly stipend for trainees.

International IT Courses Expansion

As part of the CM Skilled Punjab Initiative, the following goals have been set:

• 4,000 youth have already completed international IT certifications.
• The target is to increase this number to 10,000.

Moraki Project: Hospitality Training

The ‘Moraki’ Project trains youth for jobs in the hospitality industry. It includes:

• 6 months of free training with British institution CTH.
• Hands-on experience at top hotels.
• Job placement in luxury hotels.

This helps youth find work in the local and international hospitality industries.

‘Pehchan’ Program: Empowering Transgender People

The ‘Pehchan’ Program focuses on giving skill training to transgender individuals. Key features:

• 1,600 transgender people trained in textile, makeup, and backstage production.
• Rs. 8,000 monthly stipend during training.
• Job placement support after training.

This program helps transgender people become financially independent and included in society.

Tabeer Program: Jobs Abroad

The ‘Tabeer’ Program is designed to help skilled professionals get jobs abroad. Features include:

• Identifying high-demand skills in international job markets.
• Training and certification for overseas employment.
• Visa and travel support for selected candidates.

This will help skilled professionals get better job opportunities outside Pakistan.

Main Digital Program for Rural Women

The ‘Main Digital’ Program helps rural women learn digital skills. Features include:

• 27,000 women will get training in English and IT.
• Free desktop computers will be given to trained women.

This program will help rural women join the online job market and improve their skills.

Skills on Wheels Project – How to Apply & Key Details:

The Skills on Wheels Project hasn’t started accepting applications yet, but it will likely begin by mid-April 2025. The Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department will release a dashboard at that time. The dashboard will:

• Show your training progress and job placements.
• Provide real-time information on skill programs.
• Give online access to training resources and job openings to help you find jobs after training.
