1. Applied Biological Sciences: Environmental Health

• Fully Funded Scholarship Thailand focuses on the intersection of biological sciences and environmental health — studying how environmental factors affect human and ecosystem health. It is ideal for students from biology, environmental sciences, medicine, or public health backgrounds who want to specialize in environmental health research at the postgraduate level.

2. Chemical Sciences

• A research-focused program in chemistry covering both fundamental and applied chemical sciences. Suitable for students with a background in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or closely related fields who want to pursue advanced research in chemical analysis, synthesis, or applied chemistry.

3. Environmental Toxicology

• Chulabhorn Graduate Institute Scholarship studies how toxic substances interact with living organisms and the environment. It combines elements of biology, chemistry, and environmental science to understand the effects of pollutants and chemicals on health and ecosystems. It suits students from biology, environmental sciences, pharmacy, or medicine backgrounds with an interest in toxicological research.

Important: You must select only one program in your application. Make your choice carefully based on your academic background and research interests — switching after submission is not possible.

Age Limit — Under 30 Years

• Applicants must be under 30 years of age at the time of application. No age relaxation will be granted under any circumstances. This is a strict requirement. If you turn 30 before the application deadline of 31 August 2026, you are not eligible.

Bachelor’s Degree — Minimum CGPA 2.75/4.00

• You must hold a completed Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00 — or the equivalent in your country’s grading system. If your university uses a percentage or division system, you will need to provide an equivalent CGPA or have your institution confirm the equivalent on your transcript.

Academic Background in a Relevant Field

Your Bachelor’s degree must be in one of these disciplines — or a closely related field:

• Chemistry
• Biology or Biological Sciences
• Molecular Biology
• Environmental Sciences
• Medicine or Medical Technology
• Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences
• Other closely related science fields — CGI may consider these on a case by case basis

Scientific Laboratory Research Experience

• Applicants must have experience in scientific laboratory research. This does not have to be extensive professional experience — laboratory work during your degree, thesis research, internships in a research setting, or any formal lab-based research activity qualifies. You will be asked to describe this experience in detail in the application form. Be specific — name the lab, describe what you did, explain your role.

English Language Proficiency

You must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following — a copy of the relevant document must be attached to your application:

• TOEFL score
• IELTS score
• Official letter from your university confirming English was the medium of instruction
• Other acceptable evidence — specify in the form

Statement of Purpose

• A Statement of Purpose must be submitted as part of the application. This is a written statement explaining your motivation for applying, your research interests in your chosen field, and your career goals after completing the program. This document carries significant weight in the selection process — a generic, vague statement will not serve you well. Be specific, honest, and clear about why you want to study this particular field at CGI.

Critical: Three recommendation letters are required — not one, not two. Three. Each from a different referee. Identify your three referees early and give them enough time to write and provide their letters before your submission date. Last-minute requests to referees are a common reason applications are submitted late or incompletely.

Select Your Program

• The first section of the form asks you to select your proposed program of study. Choose one only from the three options: Applied Biological Sciences: Environmental Health, Chemical Sciences, or Environmental Toxicology. This cannot be changed after submission, so be certain before selecting.

Fill Your Personal Data

Enter your personal details exactly as they appear in your passport:

Enter Your Educational Record

List your educational background starting from your Bachelor’s degree. For each qualification, you will enter:

• University / Institution Name

• Major Field of Study
• Cumulative GPA or Equivalent — must be at least 2.75/4.00

You will also be asked whether you have ever been trained in Thailand — answer honestly. You may also list any publications or research work in the space provided — do not attach them as documents, just list them in the text field.

Enter Your Employment Record

Provide your current or most recent job and any previous employment. For each position include:

• Employer name
• Employment period — from and to
• Title or Position
• Type of Organization — Government, Semi-Government, Private, or NGO
• Main function of the organization and office address

Two additional sections appear here that carry significant weight in the evaluation:

• Description of your work including your responsibilities — be specific and detailed
• Description of your scientific laboratory research experience — this is one of the eligibility requirements. Name the laboratory, describe what research you conducted, explain your specific role, and mention any outcomes or skills gained. Vague answers here will weaken your application significantly.

Complete the Expectations Section

• You will be asked: “Please describe what you plan to do after you finish your study and return to your home country.“ This is asking CGI to understand the impact their scholarship will have — they want to support students who have a clear plan to apply their knowledge usefully. Be specific about your career intentions, whether in research, academia, industry, or public health.

Fill the Language Proficiency Section

Rate your proficiency in your mother tongue, English, and any other language across Reading, Writing, and Speaking — using Excellent, Good, or Fair. Then in the English Proficiency Test section, select which proof you are providing and upload the document:

• TOEFL score
• IELTS score
• University letter confirming English as medium of instruction
• Other — specify what it is

• The final content section asks you to write your Statement of Purpose — describing your motivation for applying, your research interests, and your career goals. Write this section thoughtfully. This is your single most important opportunity to show the selection committee who you are beyond your grades and documents. Be specific about why this particular program at CGI interests you, what research questions excite you, and what you intend to do with your degree.

Declare, Review, and Submit

Read the declaration carefully before checking the box. It states that all information provided is true and that withholding or falsifying information will make you automatically ineligible. Check the declaration box only when you are satisfied that everything you have entered is accurate.
