CM Maryam Approves 40B Fund to Upgrade Punjab Govt Schools

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a 40 billion rupees fund to improve government schools in Punjab. This fund will be used in the next 2 months, before students return from summer vacation. The goal is simple:

When children come back to school after Summer Vacation, everything should be ready — clean, safe, and comfortable.

Why This Fund Was Released?

1. Schools have many missing things

Most government schools in Punjab don’t have:

Clean drinking water
Proper toilets
Working fans and lights
Safe and strong desks or chairs
Fire safety tools like extinguishers

Some schools don’t even have boundary walls, classroom doors, or first aid kits. These are basic things, but still missing.

2. Students are facing problems

Because of missing facilities:

Students sit in heat with no fan
They feel uncomfortable and tired
No toilets means health issues, especially for girls
Dirty water can cause diseases
Broken desks hurt students’ back and posture

3. A promise by Maryam Nawaz

Maryam Nawaz promised that she will fix these problems. This fund is part of her first 100-day education plan.
She said:

Our children deserve better schools. No child should study in bad conditions.

4. To stop bigger problems later

If these issues are not fixed now:

Parents will start complaining
Teachers will be unhappy
Students may leave school
Future repair will cost more time and more money

So this is the right time to fix everything.

What Will Be Fixed with the 40 Billion Rupees?

Here’s a simple list:

Area	What Will Be Done
Water & Toilets	Clean water filters, working toilets for boys & girls, handwashing areas
Electricity	Fans, tube lights, solar panels where needed
Furniture	New desks, chairs, blackboards, and repaired walls/doors
Safety	Fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, mosquito nets, first-aid boxes
School Grounds	Playgrounds fixed, trees planted, benches added
Learning Tools	At least 1 computer per school, projectors in some schools, more books
Special Needs	Ramps, accessible toilets, Braille books for blind students

Who Will Do This Work?

CM Maryam Nawaz

She approved the full plan
She wants everything done before school reopens

Punjab Education Department

They are managing and checking the whole work

District Education Officers (DEOs)

Each DEO will check what’s missing in schools
They will send the list to higher officials

School Principals

They will help in checking and supervising repairs

Contractors & Workers

They will repair, paint, install, clean, and fix things

Teachers & Parents

They will watch the work
If anything is wrong or delayed, they can report it
