• Solarization of 7,670 tube wells has officially started

• Out of these, 652 tube wells have already been fully converted to solar

Which Areas Were Included in Tubewell Solarization Program?

Phase 1 of the CM Punjab Tube Well Solarization Program did not cover all of Punjab. It was specially focused on those regions where farmers face the most serious electricity and diesel challenges.

The main districts included in Phase 1 were Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Vehari, Lodhran, and Layyah. These areas were selected because they often face long power cuts, high fuel costs, and limited access to reliable energy.
